Inlaid Die Technique

I recently played around with a new technique - inlaid die cuts!  I was in need of multiple thank you cards and thought this would be a perfect time to try it out.

I had a number of background pieces that I had airbrushed with my Copic markers. I die cut a couple different Memory Box Dies (Prim Poppy and Chloe Stem) using the background papers.

I die cut the flowers from a piece of white cardstock, 4 x 5.25". Next, I used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Thanks and placed it over the stems of the flowers.  Make sure to keep all the "inner" parts of the white die cuts from both the flowers and the words.

To adhere to the colored cardstock (4.25x5.5"), I covered the colored cardstock with tape runner where ever the die cut pieces would be inserted. I also went around the edges to make sure the white was completely secured.

After putting the flower and the colored "thanks" in, fill in any empty spots with the leftover white pieces.

This technique can be a tad time consuming, but I love the way it turned out!
